Baidoa, Somalia, 09-1992 A starving child and her mother wait for their food ration at a distribution center in Baidoa. After a yearlong civil war in Somalia, US troops finally invade the country to restore order and deliver relief supplies. The operation later ended in disaster with the US pulling out and Somalia returning to permanent civil war.
