Prokopievsk, Russia, 1993 A portrait of a mining town in Prokoviesk, Kuzbaz region - Siberia. Galina a headmistres in the local school, Gennady who works in a coal mine and their 14 year old son. During the first presidential elections in Russia, the votes of the minuing regions of Siberia, played and essential role to bring Boris Yeltsin to power.More than anywhere else, miners continued on like during Soviet times, with little change nor improvement to their lives under the new democratic leadership.
