Islands

Potter Island, Mergui Archipelago, Southern Burma, 2002 Lonely kabangs, the typical Moken boat, parked along beach. The Mergui Archipelago of Southern Burma and its 2000 islands are home to the Moken sea gypsies, the last seafaring nomads left on earth. They live on their boats and roam the islands, refusing to fish with nets, rather spearing fish and gathering shells. There are only few hundred real Moken left. Many have given up their boats and settled on land.
